With tuition fees of less than 100,000 pesos, it will compete with other private universities that offer similar degrees. Their degrees will be valid United States and Mexico. Students are registered as part of the students of Arkansas State University in the United States and will use the same program, instructed in their original language, explains Edmundo Ortiz, director of the university in Mexico.

The university will teach eight degrees and two master's degrees: Electrical Engineering, Biological Sciences, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Biotechnology, International Business, Chemistry, Strategic Communication and, as postgraduate, Administrative Engineering, in addition to an MBA.

Ortiz explained that they chose the state of Querétaro to build the campus because of its economic scenario, its development, its researchers and security, among other factors.

“From the state government we are not receiving more than their advice and great support, they have opened the doors of their dependencies and contacts. They do not give us financial resources. Although the university is state, it does not receive money from Arkansas either. That is done through Mexican investment in Mexican floor, ”he said.

The access process will be the same as in the United States. The general average of the baccalaureate will not be analyzed, but the subject qualifications will be reviewed to see if the applicant has the necessary knowledge of the career for which he applies. Students must have math skills and credit the TOEFL of English, as the courses will be in English, Ortiz said.

“From the first generation of students entering the university there will be scholarships. The SEP in its regulation requires that 5% have a scholarship. Throughout the state, high school students were invited last year to participate in a 30-week course in strengthening English, mathematics and leadership, ”said the director of the university.

The campus in Mexico has 150 hectares. Currently, 37 of them are being developed, with an investment of $ 75 million. In the long term, there is a larger project of 710 hectares, which is developed under the vision of doing a university-city.
